| MATA VAISHNO-DEVI One has to enter a narrow cave to reach the Shrine . At this place there are three rock-formations, consecrated as ' Pindies. Vaishno Devi is represented by three goddesses viz. MAHALAKSHMI - the goddess of beauty and wealth (center); MAHAKALI - the vanquisher of evil ( right ); and learning ( left ). This aspect makes the spectrum of virtues, of which Shri Vaishno Devi is the epitome, still wider and thrilling. She is the source of all bliss. Behind the " Pindies " there are some idols and machines offered by the former kings of J&K . The sacred flame is always lighted before the deity, each morning , as well as the evening. The Pindies are washed with the holy water inside the cave, illustrated with flowers and ornaments and offerd prayers. ( The goddess, who fulfils the desires ) " Mansa " means desire….. and the goddess who fulfils the desire of here devotees, is popularly known as Mansa Devi . Located atop the Shivalik-Hills near Hardwar the temple is easily accessible through Ropeway Trolley, as well as stairs and pedestrian path.
